Newton Did It First

There are many common misunderstandings in physics, such as the fact you can only use Special Relativity in inertial frames of reference (think flat spacetime). There is much that Newton predicted that few know about because nobody ever reads his original works. We are told that it took until the General Theory of Relativity to say that light can bend but light also bends in Newtonian theory, albeit less than in the former. Newton was actually one of the first people to discover a basic problem in quantum mechanics, in his studies of light. He saw how light was randomly reflected and transmitted and posed a wave-particle explanation. You can read about it here.
